then,1/2 brought 3oz

so then 12 *1/2=6

so 6 brought 3oz.

the equation would be

(12*.5oz)+(6*3oz.)=total amount

12*.5oz=6oz

6*3oz=18oz

6oz+18oz=24 oz

the total amount sold would be 24 ounces.
