12 kittens & 8 puppies are in the park. what is the largest number of groups they can be split into and have the same number of kittens and puppies with each owner?

Equation for kittens:

[tex]12 \div 2 = 6 \div 2 = 3[/tex]

Equation for puppies:

[tex]2 \div 8 = 4 \div 2 = 2[/tex]

the division has been done two times so it means the largest number of groups it can be split into are two
