Find the zeros of the function. y=1/2(2x+5)(x+4)

I think the answers are X=-2.5 and X=-4 but I'm not sure about the -2.5 Pls Help

Respuesta :

0=1/2(2x²+13x+20)

0=x²+6,5x+10

[tex]x = \frac{ - 6.5 + \sqrt{2.25} }{2} \\ x = - 2.5 \\ x = - 4[/tex]

Answer:

x = - 2.5, x = - 4

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the zeros, set y = 0, that is

[tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex](2x + 5)(x + 4) = 0

Equate each of the factors to zero and solve for x

2x + 5 = 0 ⇒ 2x = - 5 ⇒ x = - 2.5

x + 4 = 0 ⇒ x = - 4
