On this day in 1945 Anne Frank, the German Jewish girl whose famous
diary describes her families two years of hiding in the Netherlands,
dies at the age of 15 in a Nazi concentration camp. Her famous diary
was interrupted on August 4, 1944 when her family was discovered.
Friends of the family found the notebook and gave it to her father who
survived the camps. The diary was first published in 1947 and became
a worldwide best seller.
In her diary, Frank says that
despite all that happened to her
she still believed people were
