34 inches is in Pythagoras theory he says the two sides equel to the hopothosis (sorry about spelling)

You must use the equation c^2 = a^2 + b^2. In that case it would be c^2 = 10^2 + 24^2 = 100 + 576 = 676 
c = 676 (square root) = 26
