What is culture?

Culture is what define how people behave in a particular locality. The system of beliefs, education, and religion that governs the daily activities of a people are reflective of their culture.

Different countries have different political cultures, which can help us understand how and why their governments are organized in a certain way, why democracies succeed or fail, or why some countries still have monarchies.

Understanding our own political culture can also provide clues to political relationships, such as those we share with each other or our governments.

In other words,

  • Culture is unique to a people. It is their way of life and could be shaped by certain environmental and ideological factors.
  • Culture can be seen in the way people dress, the type of food they eat, how they worship, their morality and values. It is interesting to learn about the culture of others.
  • When a person gets to a new environment, they may have to learn the cultures of others to adapt.
