The liberation of the slaves was frowned upon by the southern states of the United States of America. In the first place, this was due to the economic practice carried out on the spot, with latifundium and large space, which demanded a gigantic number of workers and, therefore, labor was fundamental. Another point of view to be taken into account was the rivalry with the north, which was already trying to industrialize and operated with small properties, which did not require slave labor as a principle.
