The wall paintings at Dura-Europos are important to understanding the art of the late antique and early Christian period because they revealed something about the faith that was previously unrecognized when discrepancies were uncovered between the tradition of Jewish and the synagogue. The Dura-Europos did not follow the second commandment of God.
