First we are going to add 3m to both sides:
-5 = 5m - 13 + 3m
Then we can simplify 5m
8m - 13 = -5
After that add 13 to both sides:
13 + (-5) = 8m
Then Simplify 13 + (-5):
8m = 8
Then divide both sides by 8 to get 1 = m

m = 1
